At Waitoki School, we believe the arts are an important part of a well-rounded education. Our tamariki have opportunities to explore their creativity through music, visual art, drama, performance and cultural activities.
Our whole-school productions are held every second year, and are a highlight of the school year. Our productions bring together the many different talents and personalities that make up our kura, creating something special to share with our community. With every child encouraged to get involved, productions provide opportunities both on and off the stage — from performing and singing to creating costumes, props, programmes and helping behind the scenes.
Alongside productions, our tamariki can take part in a range of creative opportunities throughout the year, including choir, music, art, ukulele and other arts activities. Kapa Haka also provides an opportunity for students to develop their confidence and connection through waiata, performance and te ao Māori.
As a small school, we are proud to give our students plenty of opportunities to have a go, discover their strengths and share their creativity with others.
