School Life

 

 

There is always plenty happening at Waitoki School. Alongside their classroom learning, our tamariki have many opportunities to get involved in sport, cultural activities, the arts, camps and EOTC experiences.

Our tamariki take part in a range of sporting events throughout the year, including swimming, athletics, cross country, Rippa Rugby and interschool competitions. There are also opportunities to be involved in music, Kapa Haka, art, drama and other extra-curricular activities.

Being a rural school, our annual Ag Day and Country Fair are an important part of school life. These events bring our tamariki, whānau and wider community together and give our students the opportunity to develop practical skills, take responsibility and get involved in a great school tradition.

Camps, school trips and EOTC are another highlight, giving tamariki the chance to learn outside the classroom, work together and experience new things. Our older students also have opportunities to take on leadership roles and responsibilities around the school.

Throughout the year, our tamariki have opportunities to perform and share their creativity through school productions, art and other events. With a small school community, there are plenty of opportunities for students to have a go, get involved and contribute to school life.
