We’re getting ready for the most colourful day of the year – our Colour Run!
This is a fun event where tamariki will be raising money online to help fund some awesome new playground equipment that can be enjoyed by all ages.
At Waitoki, we believe in creating a safe, engaging environment where our learners can thrive. Our playgrounds aren’t just for play — they’re spaces where kids build friendships, solve problems, get active, and take a break when they need it. With your support, we can continue to provide fun, creative outdoor spaces that support wellbeing and learning.
So how does it work?
We’ve teamed up with online fundraising platform Go Raise It to make collecting sponsorship easy. No door
knocking, no cash handling — and whānau from anywhere in the world can get behind your child’s fundraising
efforts!
To get started, see the attached letter for all the details.
Thankyou for all your support.
Ngā mihi nui,

Board Update - Triennial Elections and Resignations
Kia ora on behalf of the Waitoki School Board.
Firstly, a big thank you to all students, families, supporters, staff and Tumuaki/Principal McCourt for everyone's mahi and teamwork to start the 2025 school year with a successful Term 1
Please find below a couple of updates regarding board elections and recent resignations.
1. Triennial Elections
As mentioned in previous updates, the Triennial School Board Elections are due to be held in September this year. All parent and staff elected representative board positions will be up for election.
At its meeting on 19th March 2025, the Waitoki School board confirmed the following arrangements for the triennial elections:
Returning Officer = Alan Curtis (Alan has provided Returning Officer services to Waitoki School for previous board elections and by-elections).
Voting method = Online voting (Alan is able to provide online voting this year. Further details regarding how this works and provision for voters that require voting via a paper ballot will be advised in due course.)
Election date (ie last date to lodge votes) = 10th September 2025.
Full details of election arrangements are expected to be communicated in Term 2.
2. Resignations
Over the past two weeks, board members Paul Roest (Parent Elected Representative) and Katrina Self (Staff Elected Representative) have resigned from the board due to other commitments.
On behalf of the board, staff and school community, sincere thanks to both Paul and Katrina for their commitment and service to the school over the past two-plus years as board members, through their mahi and thoughtful contributions to the board's work. We wish both every success for the future.
The board will consider and confirm the relevant next steps for each of these casual vacancies and aim to communicate these over the next few weeks.
Lastly, wishing everyone a great finish to the term and a safe and happy holidays.
Ngā mihi nui.
Paul Heagerty
