2026 Harbour Hockey Year 5 & 6 Team
Thank you to everyone that has expressed interest in playing hockey for the 2026 winter season.
We have just enough players to field a Yr 5 & 6 team in the boy’s division (as we have 4 boys and 3 girls in this team). Unfortunately we didn’t have enough players across the other groups.
We have a coach and manager for this team now, huge thanks to Harley Kopa (Coach) and Melissa Estinel-Smith (Manager) who came forward and put their hands up. We couldn’t do it without you.
Details are as follows:
Dates: Starts Monday, May 4, 2026 to Monday, August 24, 2026 at Hibiscus Coast (Metro Park), (no games during school holidays or public holidays)
Times: Games are 30 minutes, and the first games start at 4pm
Uniform: Waitoki School T-Shirt
Fees: Fees are $138.50 ($969.40 split between 7 players, see the table attached)
Equipment: You will be required to supply your child with a hockey stick and mouth guard for the season.
All competitions will include an element of grading to help group teams.
If you are still keen to participate, please head to Skool Loop permissions and fill out the consent form (including agreement to pay in full before Friday 10th April) to the Waitoki School account:
123139000300700
with your name and “hockey” as a reference. Please note fees must be in by this date for us to field a team, as we have a “no pay, no play” policy.
Thank you
Kia ora,
This year we have only had enough registrations for a Year 5 & 6 Hockey team.
If you have expressed interest in playing in this team, please head to both Skool Loop notices and forms for the details and the consent form which need to be filled out ASAP.
Unfortunately we only had 4 expressions of interest for the Year 1 & 2 and Year 3 & 4 teams respectively which are not enough team members to field a team, and also makes the costs considerable.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
If you have any questions, please see the school office.

Many thanks to all the parents who braved the rain and were able to attend the camp meeting this afternoon. Attached is the camp slideshow for your reference.
Camp is a fantastic opportunity for our tamariki, but unfortunately, it cannot go ahead without parents paying their child’s camp fees. The cost per student will be $400, which includes all activities, accommodation, catering and transport. If paying your child’s camp fees is going to be a financial challenge for your family, please come and have a confidential conversation with me.
On another note, we have confirmed a new date for Action Ninja World, Tuesday 21st April, with Tuesday 5th May as the save date.

KAIPARA SCHOOLS TRIATHLON (Years 5 - 8)
SWIM, BIKE, RUN
MONDAY 11 May 2026 — PARAKAI SCHOOL
(Save Day Tuesday, 12th May 2026)
(pending Council traffic management plan approval)
Are you keen to represent Waitoki School this year in the Kaipara Schools Triathlon? Do you have a roadworthy bike (and helmet)? Do you consider yourself fit enough?
Then we need you . . .
If you are interested in entering, either as an individual or as a team with friends (one great swimmer, biker and runner) please return the attached form by Monday, 30th March to the office along with your entry fee of $5 per child ($15 per team).
Paper copies have been sent home with the students, and we have spares in the office.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Please note that parents/caregivers are responsible for transporting their children to and from the event with their bikes, and for supervision during the event. There will be no Waitoki School staff available for supervision as they will be involved in the organisation of the event.
Thankyou.

We are excited to be holding a fun Easter Rock Decorating Competition followed by a Family Easter Rock Hunt!
Children are invited to decorate a rock from home with an Easter picture or cheerful Easter-themed words.
Some ideas might include Easter eggs, bunnies, chicks, flowers, or messages like “Happy Easter” or “Egg-citing!”. Use paint, markers, or any creative materials to make your rock bright and fun.
All decorated rocks will be entered into a competition judged by Karen from Bayleys Real Estate.
There will be Junior and Senior categories, with prizes up for grabs in each group.
After judging, all of the decorated rocks will be hidden around the school for a Family Easter Rock Hunt!
Families are warmly invited to join us for the hunt and enjoy the fun together.
At the end of the event, all children will receive a chocolate Easter egg, and they will be able to take their decorated rocks home.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity and enjoying a fun afternoon together!
