About Us

At Waitoki School, students are empowered to achieve as confident, responsible, lifelong learners.

Waitoki School is a small, rural, full primary school catering for students from New Entrants to Year 8. Our enthusiastic teaching staff, plus the principal and super support staff, provide a broad learning programme, including all aspects of the core curriculum and foundation subject areas.

The school has a comprehensive range of learning resources, including access to various information and communication technologies, a 20 x 8 metre swimming pool, library, large hall/variable space, adventure playground, vegetable and sensory gardens. The school’s philosophy is that children learn best in an environment in which they feel secure, valued and respected. Staff strive to develop student’s responsibility and nurture strategies for lifelong learning, for both now and in the future.

Waitoki School is an active member of the Kāhui ako o Kaipara, which is a community of local schools who aim to raise the progress and achievement of all students in the Kaipara district by working together collaboratively.

We are also a proud Enviroschool, where our students are empowered to design and lead sustainability projects in our school. The Enviroschools kaupapa is about creating a healthy, peaceful, sustainable world through learning and taking action together.

Our Heritage

Our rural heritage is a special part of the Waitoki School Experience, including our annual Ag Day held each year.
