Teacher Aide

Prior to joining the amazing Waitoki School team I worked at Stanmore Bay Primary for 17 years teaching and supporting children with learning difficulties.

I am passionate about finding the key to unlock learning for children who struggle for whatever reason. Their struggles maybe academic, emotional or challenges in their little lives they are having to cope with.

I am here to support them, build confidence and teach them the skills to enjoy their school experience.

Normally I work with small groups to foster a feeling of being part of a team, building friendships and watch them blossom.

Animals are often part of the learning and healing process.

I am the Garden Supervisor for our Garden to Table programme. Groups of children work with me in our amazing gardens at Waitoki School.

Another role I enjoy is Lamb Daycare Coordinator where I help the kids raise their pet lambs ready for Ag day.

I run an Accelerated Literacy Programme working with all ages. We work on basic skills in Literacy and enjoy Creative Writing, reading and spelling.

There is always something new and exciting happening at Waitoki School and I am proud to be a part of the team.
