Kia ora, I am Jules McCourt and I am proud to be the principal of Waitoki School. I have worked in the education sector for over 30 years and I am passionate about making a difference in young peoples lives. I believe all children should have access to meaningful learning opportunities that are relevant to them and offer experiences across the breadth of the curriculum. The Waitoki School GOAT values (Grit, Ownership, Aroha and Teamwork) align with my own values as I encourage students to have ownership of their learning and I advocate for a child centred, future focused, equitable education for all. I welcome diversity as it provides students with opportunities to be inclusive, respectful and empathetic learners.

I am originally from England but have made Auckland’s beautiful North Shore my home for over 20 years. I am Mum to two grown up children, Charlie and Freya, who are both at University studying Engineering and Accounting respectively. My fur babies (cats) Dibbles and Schrodinger complete my family. In my spare time, I love beach walks, shopping (that is also my superpower!) catching up with friends for coffee, lunch or dinner, watching Formula 1 and playing backgammon. I am a lifelong learner and have just completed my M.Ed in Educational Administration and Leadership.
