New Entrants Teacher/Kaiako

In 2023 I came to Waitoki School as a reliever and was truly amazed at the friendly welcome I received. There is such a warm, supportive environment here that makes for a very happy learning place indeed. In 2024, I started working in the New Entrants classroom as a part-time teacher.
This year, I am looking forward to continuing my regular one day a week with the wonderful New Entrants. I believe that children learn and thrive best in a happy and nurturing environment which I will work hard to provide.
I have over 40 years of teaching experience over all levels of primary school, but new entrant children are my passion. Their enthusiasm and boundless energy are infectious and that makes the job so much fun. Watching them grow and learn throughout the year is truly magical. And they never forget you!
I live with my husband Steve in Torbay and we have 2 adult sons. Outside school you will find me spending time with our family, at our local beach, walking, and spending time with friends.
